Sierra de Oltà in Calpe

Sierra de Oltà in Calpe

Nature nearby, open views, and a hassle-free circular route.

Just behind the urban center of Calpe rises the Sierra de Oltà. It is neither the highest nor the most well-known, but from its summit, at nearly 600 meters, you can see everything: the Peñón, the sea, the slopes of Bèrnia, and if the day is clear, much more.

Here, the plan is simple: a marked circular route, not too difficult, with shaded areas, drinking water, toilets, picnic areas, and a forest path that takes about two hours to complete. Perfect for those who want to escape the noise, move around a little, and spend the day among trees and great views.

What you will find along the way

  • The Ermita Vella de Sant Francesc, halfway between a cultural stop and a resting spot.

  • The Pou de la Mola, a traditional well carved in stone that tells of the area's agricultural past.

  • A summit with an observation point, without railings or platforms: just the edge, the view, and silence.

How to get there and start

From Calpe, take the N-332 towards Alicante. Signs point to the camping area and the forest parking, where the route begins. A chain with white and yellow marks indicates the start. In just a few minutes, you will connect with the main trail.

The route is circular, marked, and suitable for almost all levels. You can do it with children, friends, or alone if you feel like walking without having to think too much.
