Guide to enjoying Calpe in one day
Beyond relaxing on the beach, if you visit the Alicante province, there are a number of places you cannot miss, perfect for a day trip, especially if you are staying in a nearby municipality. One of the best options is enjoying Calpe in a day. There are many spots worth visiting, and to ensure you don’t miss any, we recommend paying attention to this guide we have prepared for you.

What to see in Calpe in a day?
If your upcoming vacation plans include a day trip, you will definitely want to know what to see in Calpe in a day. These places are unmissable:
- Peñón de Ifach. Undoubtedly, Peñón de Ifach is one of the most iconic sites not only in Calpe but in the entire Alicante province. It reaches 332 meters and is surrounded by spectacular vegetation and wildlife. Its seabed is equally impressive. Additionally, you can take the opportunity to walk a route around the area. Before starting this trail, we recommend you visit the medieval settlement Pobla d´Ifach.
- Calpe Port. When you visit Calpe Port, you will have no doubt that you are in a genuine fishing village. If you like getting up early, you can visit the fish market and see firsthand how the auction is carried out. Plus, the area is full of restaurants where you can enjoy delicious Alicante cuisine.

- Ecological Walk Prince of Asturias. This route starts precisely from Calpe Port and reaches Cala el Racó.

- Ecological Walk of Benissa, going all the way to Calpe! Another scenic stroll you can enjoy is the path connecting these two towns. It’s true that the route is long—9 kilometers—but if you’re fit, we invite you to undertake this walk.
- Cala el Racó. We mentioned this spot earlier. It’s a cove located at the foot of Peñón de Ifach. It offers many attractions, among which marine fauna viewing is notable. Besides, it’s a perfect place not only to relax on the beach but also for diving or snorkeling.
- Las Bañas de la Reina. This is a Roman archaeological site next to Calpe Salinas. It’s a place you shouldn’t miss if you’re visiting the area.

- Roman Baths. Besides the Roman archaeological site, Calpe also has Roman Baths. We recommend visiting this place, as it is worth spending a few hours soaking in this historically rich site.
- Calpe Salinas. Right next to the archaeological site are Calpe Salinas. Another place of great interest, especially if you are a nature lover. Keep in mind this is a protected natural area where you can observe various birds, such as flamingos, storks, or gulls. One of the most striking features of the Salinas is that they are located almost in the city center.

- Old Town. We could dedicate a whole article to the Old Town of Calpe as it encompasses many interesting areas within its streets. If you prefer not to complicate things, a Tourist Route is marked on the streets to follow. It’s the best way to see the highlights without missing any of the most significant sites. You will love its streets and shops full of local charm.
- Calpe History and Archaeology Museum. This museum is located right in the Old Town and has pieces of great cultural interest. You will discover aspects of the town you didn’t know.
- The Red Wall. You might have seen this building on social media more than once, as it has become very popular among influencers. Designed by the renowned architect Ricardo Bofill, it has a very original look. Be discreet during your visit, as some locals are somewhat annoyed – which is understandable because many tourists enter without permission to take photos inside.

- Torre Molí del Morelló. Beyond the Salinas we mentioned earlier, is Torre Molí del Morelló. This is an old windmill built in the 19th century.
- Torre de la Peça. Located in the Old Town of Calpe, specifically in Plaza de la Vila, this tower was part of the local defensive system. It’s one of the most iconic sites in the area, and your vacation wouldn’t be complete without taking a photo in front of it.
- Monte Toix. From Monte Toix, you can enjoy a truly spectacular landscape featuring Peñón de Ifach and Calpe Bay. The area offers incredible photo opportunities.
It’s clear that spending the day in Calpe is one of the best options if you’re on vacation in the area. Discover many more places for your vacations in Calpe.
