Shopping in Calpe
Between the usual, the unexpected, and some good discovery
Calpe is not just the sea and trails, it is also a great place for leisurely strolling and browsing shops without a plan, discovering a nice detail or taking home more than just sand in your flip-flops.
There are no large avenues or gigantic shopping centers, but there are charming corners, passing markets, timeless stores, and some surprises you wouldn't expect.
Four shopping areas in Calpe
1. Plaza Central Calpe
The only full-fledged shopping mall. Located in the city center, and although it’s not huge, it has the essentials: stores, bars, Amazon Locker, and occasional events if it coincides. It functions more as a practical stop than a sightseeing plan, but if you need something, it’s a good place to start.
2. Old Town
Where the soul is. Here, you don’t come to shop just for shopping, but to browse small bookstores, craft shops, workshops, and some souvenirs with more intention than refrigerator magnets. The best spots are between pedestrian streets and in a relaxed atmosphere.
3. Avenida Gabriel Miró
The most commercial and trendy part. Brands like Paco Martínez, Adolfo Domínguez, Parfois, but also clothing, home goods, and accessories stores. Here, you’ll also find the Aitana Shopping Center, more functional, with stores for babies, daily essentials, and basic items that come in handy.
4. Promenade and Port
Ideal for a walk, ice cream in hand, and no rush. Along the promenade, there are many small beach shops, clothes, maritime souvenirs, and some local stands. And when you reach the port, more stalls and classic souvenirs, the ones you know you’ll end up buying anyway.
