Calpe with friends

Simple plans, unforgettable views, and well-spent time.

If you're thinking about a getaway with friends, Calpe is one of those options that always turn out well. It has the sea, coves, trails, good food, history, and above all, the kind of pace that allows you to do a lot or nothing at all, and still find it worthwhile.

Here you don't just come to the beach, you come to share the terrace, get lost in the old town, climb the Peñón without talking until you reach the top, or eat rice that makes you put away your phone. And if you rent a villa, even better: pool, chill out area, sunset dinner, and everyone at their own pace.

20 real plans to do with friends in Calpe

  1. Stroll leisurely through the old town: narrow streets, colorful stairs, and small terraces that are enjoyed more in a group.
  2. Walk along the Paseo Ecológico Príncipe de Asturias or continue the route to Benissa along the coastal trail.
  3. Try nautical activities from the Real Club Náutico or from Les Bassetes: paddle surfing, sailing, snorkeling…
  4. Make a stop (visual, not touristy) at the Muralla Roja.
  5. Have a drink on the promenade. Without reservations, without rush, with views.
  6. See flamingos at the Salinas de Calpe. Yes, it sounds calm, but it’s surprising.
  7. Discover the Roman remains at the Baños de la Reina and then swim right there.
  8. Climb the Peñón de Ifach. Not much talking during the ascent, but plenty of photos at the top.
  9. Watch the sunset from the viewpoint of Cala Manzanera or from the harbor.
  10. Take a dip at Cala del Racó, just below the Peñón.
  11. Take a mini trip to the Fuentes del Algar (20 minutes away, worth it).
  12. Visit Benissa, Moraira, or Jávea, which are nearby and have a different vibe.
  13. Order a good rice dish from the senyoret. Not just any rice, that one.
  14. Lie down. Sleep. Do nothing. Because that’s also a plan.
  15. Attend a local cultural event (music, crafts, summer festivals…).
  16. Spend a different night in Benidorm. Chaotic, but fun if you’re prepared.
  17. Get on one of the submariner boats. It’s not just for kids.
  18. Swim at Cantal Roig, among rocks and turquoise water.
  19. Try places where the locals eat, not where everyone goes.
  20. Ride a vintage attraction at the summer fair, just for fun.
