What to do in Moraira with children?

Alicante province offers tourists a wonderful environment to spend a few days on vacation. If you have little ones at home, you might be wondering if it’s also a suitable place for a family trip. The answer is yes. There are many places where you can spend an unforgettable time with them. At Villas Guzmán we want to tell you what to do in Moraira with children.

8 Things You Can Do in Moraira with Kids

Most adults go to Alicante to enjoy the beach, long walks along the coast, and relaxation. However, these little beings are full of energy and need more activities so that their visit is also fulfilling. Here are some of the most interesting options.

1. Playa l’Ampolla

There are several beaches in Moraira. Although children can have a great time at all of them, l’Ampolla stands out because it has everything. For example, it has soft sand, perfect for building castles. The waters are shallow and, although they must always be supervised, they are less dangerous. There is also a stream of clean water that will delight them. And, of course, there are public toilets and showers.

2.     Beach activities

In Moraira’s beaches, there are many activities geared toward adults, children, and families in general. For example, you can rent a kayak for two for a while. They won’t row much, but they’ll have a great time. It’s also possible to try the sport of the moment: Paddle surfing. You’ll surely laugh a lot trying to keep your balance. During the hottest months, inflatable water structures with slides and trampolines are set up. And don’t forget the sandcastle competitions.

3.     Restaurante Brevis

Parents can enjoy a moment of peace while having some snacks at Brevis restaurant. It has a very fun playground; with inflatable castles, mini-golf, and various games. If you want to eat or have dinner there, they offer portions and dishes for all tastes at an affordable price. One more thing: entering the leisure area is really cheap; it only costs 2 euros per child.

4.     Moraira Train

You can’t leave without taking your children on the Moraira train. It runs through part of the town and the coast. The little ones’ imaginations will kick in and they’ll have a great time during the ride, but you’ll also enjoy it. It’s a relaxing trip along the coast, from Portet beach to Andrago. Along the way, there are other beaches and some points of interest. We recommend not to leave it too late because there are no more trips after 8:00 p.m. The price is 3 euros for children and 4 for adults. On market days, Friday mornings, it’s not in operation.

5.     Moraira Market

Enjoying with family and learning is possible. That’s what you can do if you visit the market on Fridays. Alicante is a privileged area for growing fruits and vegetables. There are many, very good and different from those commonly seen in supermarkets. Visiting the Moraira market means getting closer to the local gastronomic and social culture. By the way, everyone has their weakness, but there’s chocolate with churros and some pickles to die for.

6.     Moraira Fair

The Moraira Fair is a space where children can enjoy all the attractions they would find at any other fair, with the difference that this one is permanent during the summer months. There are bumper cars, bungee cords with elastic bands, carousels, and much more. Tickets are purchased at the entrance, and if you have any left, don’t worry—they can be used the next day or the following week.

7. Moraira Castle

Get ahead of your children’s requests and take them to see the Moraira fortress. You’ll spot it on a rocky elevation near l’Ampolla beach. The views from there are very beautiful and the walk is pleasant. It is well preserved because, although construction began in 1741 or earlier, some problems delayed its completion. Children will have a great time imagining epic battles and stories of Berber pirates.

8.     Benidorm

No, Benidorm does not belong to Moraira, but it’s very close. You can’t miss the opportunity to spend a full day in the Spanish city of skyscrapers. Your children will be surprised by the variety of people walking along the beaches and also by seeing Bali and other spectacular buildings. Additionally, there are some theme parks and water parks.
