5 destinations for a couples’ vacation at the end of summer
We are going to tell you where to go on vacation in Spain as a couple before winter arrives. In these 5 destinations, you will find good weather, as well as a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. All are located in the Costa Blanca, an idyllic environment that will enchant you both.
1. Altea
Altea is one of those charming Mediterranean towns. Traditionally a fishing village, it offers visitors an enjoyable stay, with a promenade and a small port for strolling. On the lower part, there are also many restaurants where you can enjoy delicious fish and rice dishes.
Moreover, you can find good ice cream shops to sweeten your day.
You can also lose yourself in its old town. Walking through its stone streets is like traveling to the past. You will pass through the squares of L'Aigua, or la Cruz. You will also see the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, called the dome of the Mediterranean for its shiny blue roof. From the viewpoint, you can watch the sunset and, as night falls, enjoy a pleasant dinner by moonlight in one of the outdoor terrace restaurants.

2. Calpe
Another ideal place for a peaceful couples’ holiday is Calpe. The town is known for a large rocky formation, the Peñón de Ifach, a limestone rock mass that rises up to 320 meters high. The views from the top are breathtaking.
An additional attraction is the Baths of the Queen, natural pools formed in the rock. It also has a small fishing port that serves directly to some beachfront restaurants. And another point of interest: the defensive wall and the Torre de la Peça, which protected the different cultures that inhabited the town.

3. Benissa
Benissa is another suitable destination for a couples’ vacation in Spain, with the beach as the main highlight. Here, you'll find some of the most beautiful coves and beaches of Benissa for strolling. Some are very secluded and perfect for enjoying peace with your partner. Here are some examples:
La Fustera. A natural fine sand beach with several awards for water and environmental cleanliness.
Cala Pinets. A cove with sand and rocks.
Cala la Llobella. A cove with pebbles, few visitors, and ideal for practicing underwater sports.
Platgeta de l’Advocat. Perfect for couples to walk along the pier and swim as if it were a pool. The beach has sand and a fantastic natural environment terrestrial and marine.
Cala Baladrar. Pebble beach with shallow waters. Very pleasant for walks anytime of the year.
But Benissa offers much more. You can stroll through its old town at sunset, hike the Sierra de Bèrnia, enjoying views of the Mediterranean from its highest point at 1,128 meters. You also have the chance to try its Putxero de polp, its fish, or its wines.

4. Benitachell
Benitachell is one of the most impressive destinations on the Costa Blanca. It’s a region of cliffs with exceptional vistas. Its population is divided into two parts, the village and the residential areas. The latter are located closest to the sea and offer the best views.
Among the attractions for an unforgettable vacation are its wineries, where you can enjoy purchasing high-quality wines, especially those made from Moscatel grapes. The cliff route is also highly recommended, offering a fantastic perspective. Finally, there are some coves you shouldn’t miss, such as:
Cala Llebeig.
Cala Moraig
Cala Testos

5. Jalón
Jalón is an inland village perfect for relaxing. It is crossed by the Jalón River or Gorgos and is very close to the tourist town of Benissa. It features some notable monuments such as the Ermita de Santo Domingo, the Church of Santa María, the Watermill, and the Bassa dels Arcs or the arch pond. Additionally, you can take some routes like the Pozo Route, the Martorell Route, or the Jalón historical Route.
Why choose villa and apartment vacation rentals?
The best option for accommodation in any of these destinations is renting a villa on the Costa Blanca — or an apartment! On one hand, you’ll benefit from more competitive prices and on the other, you’ll feel freer and have more privacy than in a hotel.
