Moraira Old Town
White, fishing, and Mediterranean, for walking, stopping, and understanding how it all began.
This is not a monumental or Baroque old town. It is simple, compact, authentic. The houses are well maintained but unpretentious. The shops are not postcard displays, but they sell clothing, ceramics, or details you won't find elsewhere. And if you take a leisurely stroll, you’ll surely end up sitting on a terrace, with ice cream in hand, watching life pass by.
Within its streets, you'll find some stops worth visiting:
- The small village church, discreet but with history.
- The Plaza de la Sort, which leads directly to the 18th-century Castle, from where the views of the Peñón de Ifach and the Playa de la Ampolla are simply perfect.
And if you head down towards the sea, don't miss the Fish Market: there, fresh fish is still sold every day, and walking through the harbor while the boats rest has an indescribable charm.
