Where to travel in September for a vacation?

Discovering where to travel in September for a vacation can surprise you. We will suggest paradisiacal destinations, with warm and crystal-clear waters, sites of great historical interest, and incredible gastronomy.

Surely you are thinking you need to take a plane and travel halfway around the world; nothing could be further from the truth. Everything we propose is within your reach in Alicante. Let's see now where to go on vacation in September:

1.    Altea

It is one of the most charming villages in the area. Its cobbled streets, the whitewash of its houses, and countless corners perfect for photography will surprise you.

The town is divided into a newer part, Altea, in its Historic Center, Altea la Vella, and its oldest neighborhood, Bellaguarda, which houses its watchtower. During your visit, do not miss enjoying its beaches, gastronomy, and visiting historical sites like the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo.

2.   Benissa

Benissa is, so to speak, divided into two: its Old Town and its coastal area. The oldest part of the city has one of the best medieval historic centers in the region.

You will love visiting its Marina Cathedral or the Church of La Puríssima Xiqueta; it has a history worth learning about. Its historical richness is precisely the reason why a rich culture is felt throughout the town. It is also reflected in its gastronomy.

The coastal area is of great beauty, full of vegetation, coves that connect with each other, and cliffs with stunning views. September is a perfect month for hiking.

3.   Benitachell

The coves of Benitachell are some of the most beautiful in the Valencian Community. The landscape is incredible, its waters are transparent, and you will literally believe you've entered paradise. In fact, its most famous cove, Moraig, has received various awards for its quality.

You can do different water sports in its coves and beaches. Besides the mentioned cove, visit la dels Testos, which is gravel and surrounded by cliffs. La Llebeig will take you back in time thanks to its maritime atmosphere.

Finally, visit its Old Town and enjoy its rich gastronomy. The day couldn't end better.

4.   Calpe

Calpe is another coastal town and one of the most touristy in Alicante. It stands out the Peñón de Ifach, one of the most beautiful landforms in the entire province of Alicante. Its beaches are well known for their calm waters, perfect for swimming and water sports.

Visit its Old Town, enjoy its streets that are no longer so crowded with tourists, and try some traditional dishes or a paella. There is little more to say about this town, as it is one of the most popular in the area.

5.   Jalón

Jalón or Xaló is a town located in the valley that bears its name and is traversed by the Jalón River, which runs for over 50 kilometers. It is a different option from the others and ideal for those who want to combine a beautiful Old Town with imposing nature.

In this case, we are not talking about a coastal town but an inland one. Therefore, it can be the perfect plan for a cloudy day when you want to discover a different place very close to the Costa Blanca.

6.   Teulada-Moraira

We leave for last one of the options you will like the most, as it has an inland area and a coast, Teulada and Moraira, respectively. Both belong to the comarca of Marina Alta, within Alicante.

In Teulada, we invite you to visit its Historic Center and see the Plaza de la Constitución, the Church of Santa Catalina, the Hermitage of Divina Pastora, or the Sala de Jurats i Justicies.

In Moraira, do not miss its coves and beaches; here is a small list, but there are many more:

  • The Portet Beach.
  • The Llebeig Cove.
  • The Portixol Cove.
  • The l`Andragò Cove.
  • Cap Blanc Cove.

At Villas Guzmán, you will find the best accommodations to enjoy all these locations. Also, our blog offers much more information about these destinations. So, if you wonder where to travel in September, the answer is clear: the Costa Blanca. Don’t forget to make your reservation today.
