Historic Center of Teulada
Asset of Cultural Interest
The Historic Center of Teulada is declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. You will love wandering through its streets and enjoying the good weather that lasts almost all year round in the region.
The center of Teulada has a marked medieval atmosphere similar to other municipalities located in the same area. The narrow streets that make up this part of the city are narrow and cobbled. In ancient times, the Old Town was walled and today its inhabitants refer to this part of the locality as "La Vila"
You can start your tour at the Plaza de la Constitución and continue through some of its streets. In the center of Teulada, the buildings are ancient and have a similar appearance, as they were built during the same period. In fact, some were rehabilitated long after the Christian conquest of the territory. We recommend wearing clothing appropriate for the season and comfortable footwear, but with a good sole to withstand the cobblestones of the streets.
These are other points that you cannot miss on your tour:
- Santa Catalina. It is a fortified church that was built in the XVI century and aimed to protect the city from pirate attacks. Since the XVII century it has been expanded on several occasions.
- Ermita de la Divina Pastora. It is a temple dedicated to the invocation of the Virgin of the Divina Pastora. It is unknown when it was built, but it was renovated at the end of the XVIII century.
- Sala de Jurats i Justicies. It is located in the Plaça dels Porxes and can be identified by its three semi-circular arches and its stone facade.
We recommend visiting Teulada at any time of the year, but especially in August to enjoy its Medieval Market, as it has an incredible atmosphere.
